Learning an instrument has never been easier, thanks to e-learning. While people have had access to self tuition books for years, there’s a wealth of options now available that combine the relaxed pace of teaching yourself with the structure of a professionally laid out course.
Firstly, there’s loads of free content online on sites like YouTube that allow you to get a taste for things before you commit to paying for a course. The range of different instruments you can learn is staggering and the breadth of the courses available is impressive, too. There are video courses put together by professional music teachers that allow you to learn at your own pace. If you want something more traditional and structured, there are live one to one sessions with fully qualified instructors available on some courses. These are great if you’re really serious about learning to play and having someone to push you forward is great. There are also some great musical theory courses out there too.
