The Early Childhood Teacher

Early years teaching jobs entail working in pre-school,nursery and reception classes. This involves working with children with the approximate age of between three and five years.Needless to say, this is a very important stage in life.Being the formative years of a child, it is vital for them to be appropriately nurtured in order to grow and develop properly. This very important role is played by their teachers.

The work description of a teacher at this age is very complex. They are faced with the important task of ensuring the overall development of the children. The teacher has to,by all means, create a secure environment. It is the teacher’s duty to ensure that the children are well prepared for the transition to primary school.Children learn best through imagination and experience and the teacher has to produce appropriate visual aids and other learning resource to achieve this. Most importantly, there is the task of developing lesson plans.

The early years teacher, unlike any other teacher, not only prepares work schemes and teaches but also automatically assumes other special roles. They become healthcare providers, counselors as well as health and nutrition specialists. The lives of our little ones,at this point, are entirely in their teachers’ hands. If the teacher decides to sit back and do none of these, then they would have tampered with the backbone of our children’s growth and development.

Those with early years teaching jobs should be appropriately appreciated.I am sure you agree with me that if they were not there, then a very vital stage would be missing in our children’s lives. The teachers in primary school would have to triple their efforts, but even then something would still be amiss;half-baked fellows would be pushed to the next level and a fruitless generation would be produced. The necessary exposure to the right kind of simulation is what the childhood teacher offers .If this is not properly done then the child will not develop properly both academically and also as far as social skills are concerned.

One would ask,is it entirely the early childhood teacher’s role to help the child develop? The answer is NO.Parents should consider themselves as partners to their children’s teachers. This way, childhood education will fully benefit the child rather than only earn the teacher a salary. It is only by doing this that the parents will know what kind of information is fed to their children. When the parents discover that teaching children is not so easy, then those in this profession are given the respect they deserve. We all know that this are not just jobs like any other. The jobs are about molding lives and it is at this point where one’s life can be made or broken for good.

If you are passionate about children and interested in child development,if you can be a healthcare provider;healthcare and nutrition specialist;diagnostician and still be a curriculum specialist, then here is a job for you.If you are desperate for a salary and think any work can do,here is a warning for you,not early years teaching jobs.
